Main School - Curriculum

St Michael’s is committed to excellence in all aspects, particularly in teaching and the quality of learning.  In September 2009 we introduced a new school day and new curriculum that encompasses a broad range of subjects that provide academic rigour, challenge, stimulation and fun in equal measure.

Our broad curriculum includes: English, mathematics, science; forest school, history, geography, music, French, art, design technology, ICT, current affairs, food technology (years 7 and 8), drama, P.E., and games.

Regular assessment ensures that each child’s progress is closely monitored and regular homework activities also help to extend and reinforce learning and allow children the opportunity to explore areas of interest and to deepen knowledge and understanding. Termly trips, visits and school-based activities also stimulate pupils’ interests and enrich the curriculum further.
